Claire is a New Jersey born artist who found early inspiration watching her artist father, Richard Prout, craft beautiful pieces with oil pastels. Surrounded by hundreds of acres of woodlands, fields and streams, nature was her playground. “I remember early in my childhood using my imagination to deconstruct elements of nature into forms and colors. The natural world holds an endless source of wonder, drama and beauty for me. I feel a deep spiritual connection to my subjects, which I attempt to capture in color and form and convey to the viewer. We have so much to lose with the ongoing destruction of the planet, to include our very existence. I hope my work gives the viewer pause to appreciate the irreplaceable gifts of nature.”
